Is MDHearing Care required?

No, MDHearing's Care Plans are optional. However, they are highly recommended for long-term confidence and protection.

Does my Protection or Care Plan cover loss replacements?

MDHearing's Protection and Care Plans cover loss as follows:

  • MDHearing Protection Plan: Up to 1 loss claim per year with a $50 fee
  • MDHearing Care Plan: Up to 3 loss claims per year with a $50 fee each
  • MDHearing Care+ Plan: Unlimited* FREE loss replacement

*Replacement coverage is designed to provide peace of mind for occasional loss or damage. MDHearing reserves the right to deny coverage in cases of suspected misuse or abuse of the program.

How do the quarterly accessory shipments work?

Regularly replacing the accessories on your hearing aids (such as tips, domes, tubing, and wax guards) is essential to keep your hearing aids performing their best for years to come. 

With a Care Plan, fresh accessories are shipped to you automatically every 3 months at no cost, so you never have to remember to reorder. Your hearing aids come assembled with their accessories, so the fiirst replacement shipment will be sent 3 months after you receive your hearing aids.

If you decide to switch to a different size dome, tip, or tubing after receiving your devices, simply contact customer service and we'll update your auto-shipments for you.  

What is the dehumidifier?

Moisture is one of the biggest threats to hearing aids. From sweat to humidity in the air, hearing aids are exposed to moisture more often than you may realize. Our audiologists recommend that every hearing aid owner use a dehumidifier to help remove moisture and keep your devices working properly day after day. 

The MDHearing Care Plan comes with a Dehumidifier Jar:

  • Removes moisture using a desiccant lining
  • No batteries or electricity required
  • Drying Time: Overnight
  • Needs replacement every 6 months

The MDHearing Care+ Plan comes with a UltraDry UV Dry Box:

  • Removes moisture using gentle, dry heat
  • Sanitizes and eliminate germs and bacteria using ultraviolet (UV-C) light 
  • Requires electricity
  • Drying Time: ~4 hours
  • No replacement required

What are the Care Plan appointments?

Care Plan appointments are one-on-one telehealth appointments with a licensed hearing specialist at MDHearing. They are typically held via an easy, HIPAA compliant video conference (similar to Zoom or FaceTime)—you can use a computer, smartphone, or tablet to join. However, they can also take place via a phone call if you prefer to talk on the phone. Feel free to have a friend or family member accompany you if you’d like.

There are two types of appointments included with Care Plans:

  1. Setup appointment: Held shortly after your hearing aids are delivered. In this appointment, our licensed specialists will help you:
    • Find a comfortable, secure fit and prevent whistling
    • Learn how to adjust and optimize your hearing aids for conversations, TV, quiet moments, restaurants, and more.
    • Answer any questions you may have
  2. Annual check-up appointment: Held at the end of the first year with your hearing aids, and each year following. In this appointment, our licensed specialists will help you:
    • Take a new hearing test to evaluate any changes in your hearing
    • Assess how your hearing aids are working & fine-tune if needed
    • Discuss any life changes and whether new technology is appropriate 
    • Answer any other questions you may have


Appointments are optional, but highly encouraged for your success and overall satisfaction with your hearing aids.

How do the subscription plan payments work?

The MDHearing Protection and Care plans are monthly or annual subscription plans.

When you purchase a plan, the credit card provided and charged at the time of purchase will be charged the same amount on all future billing dates until the subscription is canceled. Your monthly billing date is the same date as the date of purchase. For example, if your order was placed on the 15th of the month, your future billing date is the 15th of every month. If your billing date is scheduled for a date that does not occur every month (i.e. the 31st), you will be billed on the last day of the month. If you selected an annual payment, the credit card provided and charged at the time of purchase will be charged the same amount once annually on the same date as the date of purchase.

We require a minimum of five (5) business days to set up an alternate payment method if you cancel the card on file or anticipate insufficient funds will be available to satisfy this monthly obligation. Failure to do so may result in additional attempts to charge your card. You are responsible for any fees charged by your financial institution for failed transactions.

MDHearing does not charge interest or fees on subscription purchases. However, use of a credit card for a subscription purchase may result in interest charges in accordance with your individual credit card agreement. The subscription is a payment option offered by MDHearingAid, Inc. and is available when using most credit cards as well as PayPal accounts. By availing of the subscription option, you agree that it is a binding agreement to pay all of the installments until the subscription is canceled. 

Should you return the hearing aids during the 60-day trial period, your account may incur an additional monthly charge if there is a delay in returning the hearing aids by either you or the shipment provider you select. We will refund the charges on your card once we receive and process your hearing aids in our facility. Please note that your financial institution may require several business days to stop automatic payments, and an automatic payment/charge may occur AFTER the refund is processed. If this occurs, please contact us and we will work to resolve any issues.

Can I upgrade my Protection or Care Plan?

Yes, you can upgrade your plan at any time—whether you are upgrading from Protection only to a Care Plan, or from Care to Care+. Simply contact customer support and we'll be happy to assist.

Can I cancel my plan?

Yes, you may cancel a Protection or Care Plan at any time. Simply contact customer support and we'll be happy to assist.
