For many, Memorial Day serves as the unofficial start of summer and has become an excuse for a 3-day weekend filled with traveling, barbecues, pool parties, and sales.

In all of that excitement, it’s important to remember the real reason for Memorial Day—to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives for our nation. Additionally, we feel it’s an opportunity to also give back to those that have served, as well as their families. So rather than giving a percentage off of our products this weekend, we will be giving a percentage of sales to Hope For The Warriors.

What is Hope For The Warriors?

Hope For The Warriors is a non-profit organization that provides assistance to service members, veterans, and their families. It was founded by military wives that witnessed, firsthand, the effects of war on service members and their families, and wanted to serve those who have sacrificed so much. The organization is dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family unity, and hope.

What exactly does Hope For The Warriors do?

Hope For The Warriors provides support programs that are focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement, and connections to community resources.

Military members transitioning back into civilian life can participate in a number of programs that offer peer mentorship and professional connections. To assist in job searching, Hope For The Warriors provides transitional workshops that teach resume writing, skills translation, business etiquette, and interview skills.

Hope For The Warriors also offers financial assistance for combat-wounded veterans and families who are burdened by lengthy hospital stays, travel, and unexpected expenses. This assistance helps with daily living essentials such as rent, mortgage, utilities, and groceries.

Caregivers–spouses, parents, siblings, children, and friends–can participate in caregiver wellness workshops and online support groups, where they can connect with other caregivers for advice and support. Hope For The Warriors even offers scholarships for these caregivers to continue their education.
